Why Choose Us

About Us

Barford Hire & Sales was started back in 1986 when Wham split up, Freddie Starr ate a hamster and 30 million people tuned in to watch Dirty Den divorce Angie! With just a small stock of used commercial vehicles on display David Sorrell decided to hire some of them out whilst they were waiting to be sold! Those days are long gone, and there's still a good display of quality used vans and trucks ready for sale, but now we can boast of one of the largest, modern, self-drive hire fleet of cars, vans, minibuses and lorries in our region!Run by the Sorrell family and their spouses and offspring, together with a team of loyal, long-serving staff, Barford Hire & Sales goes from strength to strength offering the friendly, flexible service you should expect from a local firm but with the professionality of a multi-national. The best of both worlds! Hence our strap-line: “Large enough to cope, small enough to care”
